Hi all.  Life is incredibly busy. This custodial grandparent thingy is HARD !!   S got her Brown Belt in Karate and is now in 3rd place in our state for forms.  Kudo's to her little hard working 7 yr old self.

 

DH and I are recovering from a bout of heart issues.  I spent two days in hospital. UGGGGHHHH. NEVER again !!  I should probably quit smoking now.  Actually, I have been on that new wonder drug for smoking Chantix.  Didn't work. Sucks.  

 

My oldest daughter, the one born with TERRIBLE APGAR scores, who was brain damaged from lack of oxygen and for whom they told me, put her in special ed classes will graduate WITH HONORS from nursing school in two weeks.  Major kudo's to her!!

 

The world has gone nuts. We are now living the 'crazy years' as chronicled by one of my favorite authors, Robert Heinlein.  It's very scary.

 

We cannot trust anyone anymore.  The world is populated by good and kind people, but unfortunately, there are also crazies, madmen, people who hurt others, people who hurt children and take joy from doing so.

 

I cannot let my grandchildren play outside in a suburban planned gated community without supervision.  They will NEVER have that opportunity.  This is life now, in 2007.

 

Again, I will go and get a permit to carry a concealed weapon.  I don't believe in violence, and yet, I will kill someone who is trying to hurt me or mine.

 

I grieve for the wonderful world I grew up in, but will have to live in the world that exists now. Sad, isn't it?
